Jeremiah 3:15 (KJV)
“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Our Story — A Journey from Seeking to Serving
Early Life and Struggles
Tyler Decker’s early years were marked by a difficult upbringing in a broken home. Despite these hardships, he carried a deep desire to know God. His exposure to the Bible and church was inconsistent, and while he became aware of sin and its consequences, he lacked understanding of true biblical salvation. When he sought answers from friends and family, he was often reassured but never clearly shown how to be saved from the punishment of sin according to Scripture. Following his mother’s divorce, this confusion deepened into a season of depression and searching.

Meeting Kendra and the Search for Truth
Tyler’s life changed significantly after meeting his wife, Kendra, who was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness in a similarly broken family. Like Tyler, Kendra had a strong desire to know God, yet her family prevented her from regularly attending Kingdom Hall meetings. Looking back, it is evident that God used this to ultimately lead her to biblical salvation.
Their differing religious beliefs caused frequent discussions and disagreements, creating an urgent need for clarity. In an effort to disprove Kendra’s beliefs, Tyler began researching online. Through this process, he came to a sobering realization—not only was Kendra’s doctrine wrong, but so was his own. His search led him to the REAL Bible Believers channel, where he first encountered clear, biblical teaching on salvation.

Transformation and Conversion
In late 2017 to early 2018, Tyler’s life was forever changed after hearing a sermon on Romans 5:8–9, which clearly explained God’s love and justification through the blood of Christ:
Romans 5:8–9 (KJV)
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
Through this understanding, Tyler became a born-again Christian while living in Portland, Oregon. His salvation brought a radical transformation that surprised those who knew him before. He began studying Bible doctrine diligently and evangelizing as he grew in the faith.
Kendra’s journey to salvation followed several months later. One evening, while watching online preaching, she heard a detailed message comparing Cain and Abel—Cain trusting his own works, and Abel trusting the blood of the lamb. Though she did not get saved immediately, this truth stayed with her. Soon after, alone in her room, she cried out to the Lord in prayer, fully understanding Christ’s blood atonement for her sin. From that moment, she began reading the Bible with new understanding and assurance.

Call to Ministry
Tyler and Kendra became faithful members of a Bible-believing church in Hillsboro, Oregon. During this time, Tyler sensed a clear calling to gospel ministry, strongly influenced by Jeremiah 1:4–10:
Jeremiah 1:4–10 (KJV)
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee… Say not, I am a child… for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee…”
In obedience to that calling, Tyler enrolled in Pensacola Bible Institute in 2020 to receive further biblical training.

Mission in Utah
While traveling cross-country to Pensacola, a stop in Salt Lake City deeply stirred Tyler’s spirit, similar to Paul’s reaction in Athens:
Acts 17:16 (KJV)
“Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.”
This burden, combined with prayer and reflection on Matthew 9:38, solidified his calling to Utah:
Matthew 9:38 (KJV)
“Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
In prayer, Tyler felt the Lord impress upon him the simple question:
“What about you, Tyler?”
Further confirmation came through Isaiah 41:17–20, which spoke powerfully of spiritual thirst and God bringing life to dry places. The mention of the cedar tree stood out, aligning providentially with Cedar City, Utah.

Establishing a Ministry in Cedar City
Shortly after arriving in Cedar City, Pastor Tyler began hosting church services. From the beginning, the ministry has been small and humble. Over time, some have come and gone, with visitors still attending as they are able. At present, there is one faithful, consistent member who attends every service, alongside occasional visitors. Though small, the work continues steadily, rooted in preaching the Word of God and trusting Him for growth.
The ministry began simply and remains focused on biblical teaching, discipleship, and preaching the gospel in a spiritually dry region.
